European Commission To Look into Northern Rock Reconstitute
Capital of the United Kingdom — The European Commission said Wed that it’s set up an in-deepness investigation under European state aid rules into the U.K. government’s support of Northern Rock. “The Committee needs to open up a formal investigation into U.K. measures to reconstitute Northern Rock to insure sound foregone conclusion, notably in view of the large scale of the assistance measures, the ground of current weather in fiscal market places and the jeopardies of deformation of competition,” said Contest Commissioner Neelie Kroes.
